Structural Washers are our extra thick and extra thick washer designed for use with Grade 5, Grade 8, Structural bolting, and Socket products. Based on the standard SAE Pattern flatwasher, but extra thick, and stamped from Medium Carbon Steel, thru hardened to Rockwell Rc C43-C49, and Zinc Yellow Plated (RoHs compliant) for strength and corrosion resistance. Each washer has the bolt size on the top of the washer, and "USA" to signify that we manufacture this 100% in the USA from DFARS compliant material. Used in transportation industries, construction and MRO, power generation, mining, and general industrial applications. The perfect washer for a joint requiring extra strength and dependability. These washers are even thicker than the structural F436 specification that is generally used for structural bolting applications.

I do a lot of installation in and for Residential homes and I also do all the stuff I need installed in my own home.So I wanted to review these particular fender washers, as these are exceptionally good, very useful and very well balanced, proportion wise. The specs of these washers are as follows. The inner hole is a perfect 9/32" wide, which is exactly the right size if you combine this fender washer with any standard sized #6 wallboard flat head screws ( known under a dozen different names ) of any length. The flat head of the screw seats itself perfectly against the inside hole of this washer and still has plenty of room to lock it in. Yet the head of the drywall screws will not bulge out past these washers.I am currently using them to install ceiling sound tiles and so I am using #6 and #7 ( thats the thickness of the screw threads ) by 2 inch and 2 1/2" Masonry ( drywall), course thread screws through the washers and into the tiles which are now being held with some glue and the washers with the screws heads sitting flush with the surface of the fender washers. This is exactly what I wanted as I am going to install a layer of Mass Loaded Vinyl over these Tiles and so I don't want that "bulging flat head raised surface" effect.Moving on, these washers are 1 and 1/4 inch in total diameter. That's their outside dimension. Its not 1 and 1/2 inches as someone else mistakenly wrote. The inner hole is considerably less then 5/16 inches wide, and just a bit wider then 1/4 inch wide. As I wrote above the inside hole diameter is about 1/4 inch plus 1/32 which equals 9/32". They are NOT 5/16 inches wide as that equals10/32 of an inch!! Nor do the rated specs listed with this washer come to anything but 9/32 of one inch. As a reference 1/4" = 8/32"Overall this is my favorite fender washer because it seats almost all #6 and #7 flat head screw tops. I believe I fit a #8 flat head screw into it and it sat flush as well. No other size inner hole will do this for you, which is why these fender washers are so popular with myself and my crew. What else to say? The quantity is 50 pieces give or take a few. That may "sound" expensive but I find it a very cheap trade off for the perfectly sized inner hole measurements.I like these guys very much, and would be rather upset if they were ever discontinued. Considering how practically everything that is really useful, in my opinion, are almost always the first to be discontinued, I am going to buy an additional 4 bags to add to my original 6 bag order.Yes these washers come in smaller plastic hardware bags with their product number and specs clearly readable on the printed label they adhere to the bag itself. This is something, as an installer that I also like very much.So the specs I have listed are all checked and they are pretty accurate. My overall opinion of these is highly favorable. And if you ever find yourself doing ceiling installation work involving mounting carpet tiles, sound panels and other materials on ceilings using these washers to hold each layer in place by screwing in about 6 per panel, you may find that some people like this work and others probably will absolutely hate the job, but either way you gotta love these washers!Hmmm.. Well, at least, I do.
