Also referred to as roll, tension and expansion pins, they are hollow and slotted lengthwise to create tension. These self-retaining spring Pins are made of uncoated carbon steel, which is stronger than 18-8 stainless steel and as strong as Type 420 stainless steel. They are installed by two easy operations, just drill and drive. Useful for many purposes, they can be used as electrical connectors in patch board circuits, terminals, fixtures for wire harness, actuators for drum, to secure pulley or gear to shaft, hinges, positioners, and studs. Spring pins are flexible, permitting a wider tolerance than other pin types, such as drive pins, taper pins, collar pins. Beveled ends make starting easy.

Size was perfect. Wish I could have ordered less but it was not an optionNot much to say. Works as it should.Very springy, very carbon-y...(deep breath)...But seriously, folks - these are high quality spring pins, with a light manufacturing oil coating and exactly to the stated spec's. I'd buy these again in a heartbeat - they are 2000 (no word of a lie) times cheaper than buying them one-off at local hdwe. stores.I found this spring pin to have very little axial compression. I would say it has characteristics similar to regular roll pins. This item was used to press in a sight retainer.Well packaged and seem to work fine. Not a whole lot more to say..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... .....Could not find locally, well made.I purchased these to replace some undersized spiral pins I had. They work perfectly as bolt catch pins for an AR-15.
