This aluminum 6061 round tubing is suitable for use in marine and transportation structural applications. The aluminum, silicon, and magnesium alloy tubing is seamless for a smoother bore than welded tubing. It is corrosion-resistant, weldable, and resists stress cracking, and has a T6 temper (heat treated and artificially aged) for increased strength. This seamless round tubing meets WW-T 700/6 and American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) B210 specifications for quality assurance and is suitable for use in applications such as structural tubing aboard ships.Metal tubing, also called fractional tubing, is used to transfer liquids, air, or solids, and it is characterized by a round shape and a hollow center. Metal tubing is commonly made with various grades of austenitic stainless steel, aluminum, copper, brass, and titanium materials and their alloys. Construction types include seamless, welded, or welded and drawn. Seamless tubing has no seam or weld point, which enables it to better withstand high pressure and resist corrosion. Welded tubing, made by rolling and welding metal sheet stock, is weaker than and not as rounded as seamless tubing, but it has a more consistent wall thickness for tighter wall tolerances. Welded and drawn tubing, also known as "drawn over mandrel" (DOM), is typically welded tubing that is drawn through a die and over a mandrel to create a smooth inner diameter, which gives the tubing comparable corrosion resistance to seamless tubing while still offering welded tubing's tighter wall tolerances. In a pinch assembling a coolant system for my car (Nissan 240sx), needed aluminum pipe for thermostat bypass. Product came as advertised and fast. Will use this company again.I got this for a project that required a short length of a specific size of aluminum tubing that was not readily available from my local hardware stores or did not meet the minimum order requirements of my usual metal suppliers. The tubing was as described and worked perfectly for my project. Although a little pricey for what you get it did include free shipping and was the least expensive alternative in a pinch.Just what I needed!!I like the item because I'm sleeving some 1 in. Aluminum. The 7/8's go's inside perfectly. The only downside is the price. It's like .70 cents per in.I purchased this Aluminum 6061-T6 Seamless Round Tubing, WW-T 700/6, 3/4" OD, 0.68" ID, 0.035" Wall, 36" Length as an Axyl surround for a Kayak Mobility Cart build I am working on. It is a great little 36" piece of Aluminum Pipe for this or other uses I may find for it. With a little effort, you can easily cut it to size or even glue it up with epoxy for use in many ways, that only you can come up with. If you need a good aluminum, about anything you may need, Small Parts or Online Metals can get it for you. I love it.Nice 36" length for custom fuel injection piping, crossovers, etc.All dimensions exactly as described.This is a fairly thin walled aluminum tubing - exactly as described. the 6061-T6 is a harder, stronger alloy of aluminum than pure aluminum .
